Gut Detox Drink


After many hours of research to find out what things are beneficial for cleaning out the system and detoxing the gut, I came up with this recipe. I will provide links for you to all of the ingredients used.

Please note: This recipe is not for use in those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. There have also been reports from others, and I have personally experienced this as well a few times, of some people feeling a warming sensation when drinking this, as well as their heart beating a bit faster. This is due to the diatomaceous earth’s detoxing effect on the body. If you are concerned about this, you can feel free to not include the DE in this recipe.


Gut Detox Drink



Mix all ingredients together well in a glass jar and drink.



Strawberry Coconut Milk


I decided to try a spin on the homemade Coconut Milk that I made yesterday, and the results were fairly tasty. Next time I would add 1 more cup of strawberries, but otherwise, this was good!

  • 5-6 cups homemade Coconut Milk
  • 3-4 cups fresh Strawberries, washed and hulled (I used 3, but would use 4 next time)
  • Favorite sweetener to taste (optional)


Combine all ingredients in a blender. Pour yourself a glassful and enjoy!

Coconut Rice Congee


Yesterday I decided to make double batches of both my Coconut Milk and Rice Milk recipes. As a result, I had both rice congee and coconut meat leftover. (Rice congee is what is left in the strainer when straining your rice milk. It’s a thick consistency, somewhat like porridge or pudding.) I decided to make the most of both of my leftovers, by incorporating them into one new recipe. My little monkey and I enjoyed this very much, and hopefully you do too!

Coconut Rice Congee

  • Rice Congee from 2 batches of Rice Milk
  • Coconut Meats from 2 batches of Coconut Milk (note: I did NOT use all of the coconut meats up in this, but please feel free to use as much or as little as you’d like in yours.)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • Coconut Sugar to taste
  • 2 dashes Cinnamon (optional)


Set all rice congee aside in a bowl or mug. Add in vanilla, cinnamon, and coconut sugar and combine thoroughly. Lastly, add in as much of your leftover coconut meat as you’d like, stir, and enjoy!


Blueberry Cashew Smoothie


This smoothie was this morning’s breakfast, so the deliciousness is still fresh in my mind! Frozen blueberries make this smoothie nice and chilled, and the addition of nut butter and protein powder make this a complete breakfast. Enjoy!

  • 1 Handful of Frozen Blueberries
  • 2 Tablespoons Cashew Nut Butter
  • 1 scoop Berry flavored Protein Powder (use your favorite brand)
  • 2 Cups Milk of Choice


Place all ingredients in a high powered blender, pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!

Blueberry Coconut Cashew Yogurt


So a recurring theme for me lately has been mixing these 3 ingredients together. I discovered this fearsome trio by experimenting with yogurt mix-ins and have never looked back. There are no exact measurements for this recipe because, well, there’s really no need to be. Have fun!

Blueberry Coconut Cashew Yogurt


  • Frozen Blueberries
  • Roasted Cashews (mine were unsalted)
  • Unsweetened Coconut
  • Plain Yogurt of Choice
  • Clear/Unflavored Liquid Stevia


Place yogurt in bowl or glass of choice. Mix in liquid stevia to suit your taste. Add in coconut and mix until well combined. Fold in cashews and blueberries and enjoy!

Coconut Flour Blueberry Muffins


Hi everyone!

Today I decided to experiment with a coconut flour based muffin. I obtained the base recipe from The Coconut Mama, who has so many delicious coconut flour (and other coconut) recipes.

I decided to add the blueberries in frozen, just before putting the batter into the cupcake tins. It worked beautifully as you can see below.

I’m so excited that I’ll have a super great base recipe to work with in the future. I want to try making banana nut muffins, raspberry coconut muffins, and pumpkin muffins with this base too.

I was a bit concerned that the family wouldn’t like the texture of these, but they were a huge hit with everyone! They even liked the honey sweetened aspect of them, as opposed to being sweetened with sugar (which I try hard to avoid). Again, everyone went back for seconds and even thirds throughout the day, which let me know that this recipe is definitely a winner!

So without further ado, here’s the recipe for you.


Coconut Blueberry Flour Muffins 2

Coconut Flour Blueberry Muffins

Makes approximately 12 Muffins

*3/4 cup of coconut flour

*1/2 teaspoon of baking soda

*1/4 teaspoon of sea salt

*6 eggs

*1/2 cup of coconut oil, melted

*1/2 cup of raw honey

* 1 teaspoon of vanilla

* 3/4 cup Frozen Blueberries

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, mix all dry ingredients together and  set aside.

2. In a medium bowl, beat eggs and mix in melted coconut oil, honey and vanilla. Add  dry ingredients and mix well. Let sit for 3­5 minutes or until coconut flour has  absorbed the liquid.

3. Add frozen blueberries into your batter just before scooping it into your muffin tins.

4. Scoop batter into prepared muffin pan. Fill each muffin tin 3/4 full of batter.

4. Bake for 25­-30 minutes. Let muffins cool before serving.

5. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

No Sugar Added Dark Chocolate Cashew Bark


I really wanted to create a recipe using chocolate that didn’t contain sugar. I asked Sugar Free Mom for her help, and she directed me to her recipe for Sugar-Free Dark Chocolate Candy Bars. With that as a base, I was able to add in my raw cashews, and make a nice sugar free bark recipe that can be enjoyed all year long! Many thanks to Brenda for her help with this project of mine. I also want to apologize for not being able to truly capture the beauty of this recipe. I was having a very hard time getting my camera to do what I wanted it to do.

No Sugar Added Dark Chocolate Cashew Bark

Stevia Sweetened Chocolate Ingredients:

* 1 – 4oz bar 100% Ghiradelli Unsweetened Chocolate (this can be found in the baking aisle)

* 3 tblsp Coconut Oil

* 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

* 1/4 tsp Salt

* 2 tblsp Milk of choice

* 1 tsp Liquid Vanilla Stevia

* 1 1/2 tbsp Powdered Stevia

Additional Ingredient:

* Raw Cashews


Melt all chocolate ingredients in sauce pan over low heat on stove until completely smooth. Remove from heat and stir in raw cashews. Pour onto metal pizza tin and smooth into thin layer. Place in freezer (or deep freezer if you have one) until completely hardened. Use a metal spatula to carefully remove from the pizza tin. Break into the size of pieces that you’d like and enjoy! Be sure to place unused bark in a freezer safe container, and back into the freezer.
