Vega Protein & Greens Review

Happy springtime, everyone! I hope that your year is going beautifully, and that you are all healthy and happy today.

My newest most favorite protein powders are the Vega Protein & Greens line. I love all 3 of the flavors that are offered at my local big box store, and I love the price too. I can only get it in the smaller containers locally, but they do offer these in larger sizes & in 5 flavors on Amazon, as well as on the company’s web site (which offers these in 6 different flavors).

Some of the amazing qualities of these protein powders are: 1. They are plant based, so they are appropriate for vegetarians & vegans to consume. 2. They all contain 20 grams of delicious protein per serving. 3. They all contain between only 110-120 calories per serving (not including any other ingredients you might add to them, of course). 4. They contain between 16-25 servings per container (depending on which size & flavor you purchase). 5. They are extremely low in sugar, containing only 2 grams per serving. They are sweetened naturally with fruits and stevia. 6. They contain no mystery ingredients, and only whole delicious from nature ones. 7. They are Non GMO Project Verified. 8. They contain 2 servings of greens, which help to keep the body’s digestive system on track. 9. They are gluten free. 10. They actually taste good!

Over the years I’ve tried countless protein powders, some being excellent, and some not so much. These truly rank right up there on my favorites list, and I have purchased these time and again because our family likes them so much.

I would also like to mention that the company has a very appealing “recipes” section to their web site, which I am greatly anticipating further exploring.

All in all I very highly recommend all 3 of the flavors of the Vega Protein & Greens protein powders that I’ve purchased.

I hope that you’ve found this review both informative and helpful. Please feel free to ask questions and I’ll answer as soon as possible.

Yours in good health, Healthified Living

Choco-Nilla-Nana Smoothie

Choco-Nilla-Nana Smoothie

* 16 oz Milk of choice (I used my Quick Cashew Milk)

* 2 handfuls Chocolate Chips

* 1 scoop of your favorite Vanilla Protein Powder

* 1-2 Frozen Banana/s (Be sure these have been cut into slices before frozen, for easier blending!)

* 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Place all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

Peach Yogurt Oatmeal Smoothie

I had a handful of my peach yogurt “donuts” leftover, and decided to throw them into a delicious smoothie after my workout today. I was NOT disappointed! I will definitely make this recipe again, and would love to try it with many different fruit “donut” flavors too.

Peach Yogurt Oatmeal Smoothie

* 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

* 3 – 6 yogurt covered peach “donuts”

* 1/2 cup oats

* 16 oz milk of choice

Place all ingredients in a high speed blender. Blend until well incorporated. Pour into your favorite glass, and enjoy!!!!

Strawberry Vanilla Ice Cream Smoothie

Here’s one of my new post workout favorites! It contains the goodness of organic strawberries, and the flavor of vanilla ice cream, without the guilt of actual vanilla ice cream. It also helps soothe sore muscles, after a long hard workout. I have a feeling that I will be making this one a lot. Enjoy everyone!

Strawberry Vanilla Ice Cream Smoothie

* 2 cups (or 16 oz) Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk (or milk of choice)

* 1 cup organic Strawberries

* 1/3 cup Chobani Plain 0% Yogurt (Or yogurt of choice. I chose this one because it contains the least amount of sugar.)

* 1 scoop Bodylogix Vanilla Ice Cream Protein Powder

Place all ingredients in Vita-Mix or other high powered blender. Blend completely, pour into your favorite glass, and enjoy the goodness! Mine made about 32 oz.

Important Information & Disclaimer!!! – I apologize to everyone for the following snafu. I didn’t realize when I purchased this that this product is intended for men (because it doesn’t say so on the actual container itself). I got to looking on the company’s web site, and found that to be true, however. So I called them up to find out if this would hurt me (because I’m a woman, who has had about 3 servings of it so far) and they said that it wouldn’t hurt me, or make my muscles bulk up with only 3 servings. However, I’m guessing that it’s meant for men who are trying to build muscle, like body builders (based on the information I’m reading on their web site). This company does, however, have a Vanilla flavor in their Natural Whey, which I love their chocolate version in, so I’ll just be getting that from now on, and will give the rest of this container to my husband. Sorry again for any confusion I may have caused with this product.

Orange Creamsicle Winter Wellness Smoothie

I typically consume 1 protein smoothie per day, and with it being winter time, I knew that I wanted to add a boost of vitamins into the mix as well. I had already been drinking Airborne multiple times per day, to help keep my immune system boosted, so I decided to combine the 2, into 1 delicious smoothie. The results were incredibly delicious. I hope that you enjoy this smoothie as much as I do!

Orange Creamsicle Winter Wellness Smoothie

What you’ll need:

* 8oz cold, filtered water

* 1 orange flavored Airborne tablet

* 16oz almond milk (I used my Quick & Easy Almond Milk – from almond butter – recipe)

* Vanilla protein powder (your favorite brand – as much as needed to make 16oz worth of smoothie)

* A marked mason jar that shows ounces on the side of the jar (optional)

What you’ll do:

Fill your mason jar with the 8oz of cold filtered water. Drop your orange Airborne tablet into the water, allowing to dissolve completely. Add 16oz of almond milk, then your vanilla protein powder. Place snug lid on mason jar and give it a few good shakes. Have fun with it (come on, you know you want to!). Remove lid and enjoy your super delicious Orange Creamsicle Winter Wellness Smoothie! It’s so good!

Here’s a picture to show what the mason jar looks like, with ounces measuring lines on the side of it. It’s hard to make out the 8oz, 16oz, and 24oz markers, but they’re on there. These make adding liquids in as you go so super easy. No measuring cups required.
